Cheats do not work in Yabause
« on: January 13, 2018, 05:15:54 PM »
Now that I've lost interest in the game I was playing after spending almost two hours looking for any kind of comprehensive guide on how to use cheats on this platform, I might as well make a post about it so that other users don't end up in my predicament.

There is zero COMPREHENSIVE information on how to use cheats in Yabause; no videos, no guides, no posts, no nothing, only ambiguities. Observe:

Google search, useless:

Yabause wiki, useless:

Posts that assume one already knows the basics, useless:

Is this kept intentionally vague? Is there no way to do it without taking a programming class? I don't want to create cheats out of weird symbols and ones and zeroes, I'm not Bill Gates. I want to input an Action Replay code, hit enter and have it work.

I hit the action replay button, I enter action replay code (with and without spaces), I hit close, nothing happens. If someone out there can explain how to use cheats in simple terms and without assuming that I already know that you just have to open the developer code and find line 888765481, input a binary representation of your entire DNA sequence, clap three times and burn an offering of orange peels to Ganesha, that would be great.

I made a quick test :
Game Street Fighter - The Movie
cheat code here :
code : Unlimited Energy for player 1

Launch Yabause
Launch Street Fighter The Movie
Tools --> Cheat List --> Action Replay
In Action Replay code put : 16050A860070. Add a description. Same for 1605099A 0070 and 1605099C 0070.
Try. It should be ok.

Hey, can sameone give me information about, how a cheat file needs to look like and what file format it should have (txt or cht or anything else?
I have the problem that when I try to add a cheat code, then yabause crash but maybe it would work when I just load a file.
